Canon Middle East has announced the launch of a new eService program for its resellers and customers. E-Service is the name given to the offering that allows delivering  ‘Managed Print Service for large format printers’.  This facility will allow resellers to sell, lease or rent an imagePROGRAF printer to an end user to deliver an LFP ‘Managed Print Service’.
By agreement with the end user, the reseller attaches the printer to the cloud based imagePROGRAF LFP Monitor system.  This system will remotely receive data from the printer about it’s service status, ink usage and ink levels.
This allows the reseller to monitor uptime, to proactively offer routine maintenance and to automatically replenish ink tanks, maintenance of cartridges and print heads.
In return, the end user pays a monthly charge, based on the amount of millilitres of ink consumed as measured by the LFP Monitor application.
According to Canon, the benefits to customers would be automatic ink tank and maintenance cartridge replenishment, payment for what is actually printed – predictable ink costs and uptime monitoring, full term service and support including routine maintenance and break/fix.
While the benefits to resellers would be in expanding their business along with giving the customers a key differentiator support service,  customer loyalty, and facilitates to capturing high-value ink revenues.
Ayman Aly, senior marketing manager BIG marketing from Canon explained: “These  E-service packages will be available to resellers and partners across the Middle East.  Going forward, we would like to expand the scope of the E-Service platform by connecting with existing Canon resellers and have eService become a main part of the Canon offering to all potential partners across the Middle East.”
