A high-speed 4/6-colour + white hybrid UV LED-curable inkjet system.

What does it do?
The latest addition to the Anapurna LED series – the Anapurna H1650i LED – is a smaller version of the popular Anapurna H2050i LED printer, with which it shares several features and benefits. Like its bigger brother, the new Anapurna prints on rigid and flexible media by means of LED curing, resulting in a lower cost of ownership. It combines this with Agfa’s award-winning imaging quality, ink-saving thin ink layer technology and perfect white ink printing reliability, yet requires a smaller financial investment than other Anapurna engines.
“The hybrid Anapurna H1650i LED printer was designed as a robust, qualitative and versatile entry-level option for wide-format print service providers,” explains Philip Van der Auwera, product manager at Agfa Graphics. “Although smaller, it is equipped with features normally reserved for higher-end printers, such as automatic head height measurement, crash prevention and an anti-static bar, thus offering the very best at a reasonable price. Of course, the Anapurna H1650i LED is driven by Asanti as well, which adds to the resulting high-quality and consistent prints.”

Rigid media maximum width: 165 cm (5.4 ft); 160 cm (5.2 ft) with borderless printing

How many variants does it have and what  market is it aimed at?
The high-speed hybrid printer comes in two variants 4/6-colour + white UV LED-curable inkjet systems with a printing width ranging from 1.6 m up to 3.2 m for indoor and outdoor applications.
Van der Auwera says, “The Anapurna i LED-series fits for sign shops, digital printers, photo labs and mid-size graphic screen printers that want to combine board and roll-to-roll print jobs. The hybrid Anapurna’s are equipped with UV LED lamps, enabling users to print on a wider media mix and to save energy, costs and time. The white ink function creates possibilities for printing on transparent material for backlit applications or for printing white as a spot color. With the optional automatic board feeder, productivity is increased even more.”

In what applications it can be used?
The Anapurna i LED-series produces quality prints on uncoated rigid media, such as corrugated boards, rigid plastics, exhibition panels, stage graphics and advertising panels, as well as on roll media such as film, vinyl and paper, banners, canvas and coated textile. It can also be used to print niche products such as wood, DVDs or personalized objects, or to create architectural and interior decoration.
The use of specialty inks and the little heat generated by the LED array passing over the substrate allows the user to print on a wider range of materials. As a result, the engines can print on thin heat-sensitive styrene as well as everything from foils and laminates to coated paper, PET, fluted polypropylene, soft foam boards, or industrial film.

How easy is it to handle the media and ink?
Van der Auwera says, “Media loading is smooth and accurate thanks to automated features such as the media registration bar and head height adjustment. The automatically controlled vacuum system, consisting of four zones, delivers an equal vacuum during the printing process, whether printing roll or rigid materials. This ensures flawless media transport, giving accurate print results at all times.”
He further added, “During production the ink levels are monitored by the automatic ink refill system. The ink (re)filling system can be accessed easily, enabling a spotless refill of your ink containers. The white ink is managed by a fully separate system (circulation, under-pressure regulation and cleaning circuit). The tank containing it is equipped with a stirring mechanism to keep the ink properly mixed at all times.”

When the product was launched?
The Anapurna H1650i LED revealed to the public at C!Print Lyon (France), which took place from 6 to 8 February 2018. Both the models are available for Middle East market with immediate effect.
What training and support are offered?
A standard training programme for operators are already completed.

Mimaki JFX200
The JFX200-2513 is an entry-level model printer that is equipped with all the necessary performance, product quality, ease of use, and environmental friendliness required of a flatbed printer. It is able to print 8’ x 4’ rigid boards up to a thickness of 50mm, at up to 1200 dots per inch with quality further augmented through variable dot printing down to a 4 picolitre drop size - and it does all this at a speed of up to 25 square metres an hour.

EFI 1625 LED
The roll-to-roll plus flatbed EFI VUTEK H1625 LED has a print width of 165 cm with a 5.08 cm media thickness, being able to print on flexible and rigid substrates. It uses CMYK plus two white Efi ink, with Toshiba printheads and a dropsize of 6 picolitters. This printer has the advantage of using LED lamps to print with a high-intensity spot-curing.
