Xerox launches wide format inkjet for demand in Middle East

Xerox Emirates, a joint venture between Xerox Corporation and Mohamed Hareb Al Otaiba, recently launched the wide format IJP 2000 enabling Xerox Emirates to keep up with the growing demand for large posters, signs, point-of-purchase graphics and banners in the UAE. 

“The growing economy in the Middle East has fueled the printing market to a great extent. The launch of the IJP 2000 is a platform for Xerox Emirates to reenter the large format print arena and set new benchmarks in quality, speed and provide our customers with huge competitive advantages.” stated Andrew Horne, general manager, Xerox Emirates.

Roland DG announces launch of its first flatbed printer

Roland DG has hailed the commercial launch of its first dedicated flatbed printer, the six-colour VersaUV LEJ-640F, as a “true milestone” in the company’s evolution.

The device can handle a maximum sheet size of 1,600x2,500mm and substrates up to 200kg in weight and 150mm in height.

Print speeds range from 12.4sqm/hr in high speed mode to 5.5sqm/hr in standard mode and 4.1sqm/hr in high quality mode; maximum print resolution is 1,440x1,440dpi.

Mimaki announces an upgrade in its JV33

Mimaki has announced an update to its JV33 wide-format inkjet printer, allowing faster printing without any compromise on quality.

It is available free to all current JV33 owners and will be included as standard with new installs for no added cost.

The firmware upgrade, complemented by downloadable software, consists of Mimaki’s Advanced Pass System (MAPS) technology, which alters the way ink is laid down.

Agfa expands portfolio by launching Jeti Titan S and HS

Agfa has expanded its Jeti Titan range of UV-curable wide-format printers with a new flatbed UV inkjet device, the Jeti Titan S and HS.

Both the S (speed) and the HS (high speed) models are fitted with the 1,280-nozzle Ricoh Gen 5 inkjet printheads. The S model incorporates one row as standard and is field-upgradeable to two rows to create the HS model, doubling productivity.

Colorific announces the launch of its first wide-format print-and-cut machine, the UV640PC. The 1.6m printer combines the benefits of solvent and UV-curable chemistries to provide a ‘viable, cost-effective alternative to latex while offering the photo-realistic print quality critical to many applications at this market level’,  said the manufacturer in a statement released to the press.

    The first ever 3D printing conference cum exhibition ‘3D Print UAE’ took place on 17th and 18th August 2015 at Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE which attracted a number of like-minded 3D Printing professionals from over 40 nations.

    3D Print UAE exhibition cum conference is a concept aimed at providing a broad scale platform for the manufacturing sector and consumer world across the ME region. 

    3D Print UAE gave an opportunity for the additive manufacturing experts from across the globe to converge on this regional platform to showcase their solutions, analyze the benefits and discuss the opportunities in the Middle East. It also provided the opportunity for a listen- in to first-hand experience from industry leaders, connect solutions for overcoming challenges in the field, and enhance the brand and  business portfolio.

However, the visitors and participants were more positive.
