Company has got 80% of their products FSC certified

Orient Links has gone for a FSC certification with which 80% of its products fall in to this category. In terms of the new products, Orient Links have started food grade boards which are dioxin free and FDA certified from China. Also they have started environmentally friendly copier papers which will be distributed to European and North American markets. The brands will be mill brands or customised to client based on the requirement. Orient Links is planning to enter in to the unbleached grades of packaging boards as well.

Sun Paper has gone for new machine of capacity 450k Mt/year

Sun Paper participated for the second time in the show and has announced the start of their new paper machine. Talking to PrintWeek MEA, CEO at JR Sun Paper Group MEA, Jamal Bekdache said: "This PM24 Voith machine is doing a coated paper of high quality but in low gramage, which is not much available in Asia. ADNPM produces 65K Mt of tissue paper per year

Abu Dhabi National Paper Mill (ADNPM), the manufacturer of jumbo tissue paper rolls in UAE, produces over 65,000 tons of tissue paper a year. General manager of ADNPM, Helmut Berger, said: "The company, spread over an area of 60,000 sq m, uses Crescent Former tissue machines to produce paper from the virgin pulp. The mill houses a pulp store, machine house, stock preparation facilities, tissue machines, de-inking plant, warehouse and offices.

Kacker of Hazel Mercantile: Planning to bring in new grades

Alola Trading participated for the first time in the Paper Arabia. The company has launched their Alpine paper range. It is available in coated and laser grade. Also they will be launching speciality grades like smooth, fancy, metallic, self adhesive label and FSC and recycles paper range.

    The first ever 3D printing conference cum exhibition ‘3D Print UAE’ took place on 17th and 18th August 2015 at Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE which attracted a number of like-minded 3D Printing professionals from over 40 nations.

    3D Print UAE exhibition cum conference is a concept aimed at providing a broad scale platform for the manufacturing sector and consumer world across the ME region. 

    3D Print UAE gave an opportunity for the additive manufacturing experts from across the globe to converge on this regional platform to showcase their solutions, analyze the benefits and discuss the opportunities in the Middle East. It also provided the opportunity for a listen- in to first-hand experience from industry leaders, connect solutions for overcoming challenges in the field, and enhance the brand and  business portfolio. 

     Steffan Ritt, VP-head of global marketing and communications, SLM Solutions Group commented:  “Since, this is the first kind of event in this region, it has attracted less number of visitors. However, the visitors and participants were more positive. Overall, the show went fairly well for us but we would have been happier if the organizers promoted the event well in advance.”  SLM Solutions were one among the gold sponsors of the event.

    Most of visitors commented that these kinds of exhibitions and conference should be encouraged to create more awareness about the 3D printing in this region.
