Screen has launched its upgraded Truepress, the Jet520NX.
After a period of beta testing in Japan, Screen inkjet solutions instructor Marchel Bres said it is now in its final stages of release to the European markets. Pricing is yet to be confirmed.
“I’m really excited by the machine,” said Bres.
“The way it behaves with the uniformity and alignment is perfect, plus the quality and the speed, so really good.
“It definitely attracted a lot of interest, people walking past the stand have come over to take a look, and the new inks are also exciting people.”
Screen also showed its new SC inks for its Jet520HD, launched at the last Hunkeler. Bres said the new wide-gamut inks, which are meant for direct printing on offset coated paper, eliminates pre-processing and preserves texture on the paper. The Jet 520NX has a new 1.3m printhead module, which Screen said would prevent banding at high speeds, ensuring a stable quality level for the roll-fed printing system. It prints at a maximum speed of 150m/min.
It has a maximum resolution of 1,200dpi and takes a variety of substrates, ranging from 40gsm to 250gsm and sized between 165mm to 520mm.
