Xerox has launched a brace of digital colour presses, the 7002 and 8002, designed for printers, producing direct marketing, photo and promotional applications.

The presses are capable of 70ppm and 80ppm respectively. They also feature a new low-gloss toner that the firm claimed can produce a smooth matte finish. Both machines can print onto stocks of up to 300gsm. The 7002 and 8002 are also built with an in-line spectrophotometer that provides press performance data to the Xerox Automated Colour Quality Suite. They also include automated colour workflow, giving print providers higher levels of productivity.

Xerox Global Services and Production general manager, Xerox Middle East and Africa, Tim Gould said: “We are delighted this advanced digital print production solution from Xerox will enable our growing customer base to make a smooth transition to digital printing. These new presses are ideal for producing promotional materials and collateral as well as direct marketing and photo publishing applications.”

In addition, the manufacturer has expanded its range of in-line finishing options with the GBC ebinder 200 and the Xerox Tape Binder. The GBC ebinder eliminates manual operator intervention. It can also produce polyester bindings for applications up to 100 sheets. The Tape Binder uses a thermal adhesive tape to securely bind pages and increase flexibility.
