Qatar-based Seventh Spectrum Control P in Doha has invested in a new HP Scitex XL 1500 large format printer from Izumi Solutions.

Acccording to Izumi Solutions, the HP Scitex XL1500 is a full solution to meet most super-wide format needs.

Managing director Mahmoud Darwish said they had purchased the machine at the recent Sign and Graphic Imaging expo because the company was expanding. They were particularly keen to explore fabric printing in terms of banners and flags, despite the market being “immature” in Qatar. “Our quest is to develop that market here,” said Darwish. “You can’t just wait for the market to develop, you have to be proactive.”

He said they had also invested in the machine to enhance product quality.

Asked whether now was the right time to make the investment due to the current economic climate, he said one needed to maximise one’s capacity when times were hard, rather than be overcautious. “You need to research the market and then go for it,” he said.

Darwish said after three years of doing business with Izumi, they were assured of the company’s 24-hour after sales service.

They were confident in terms of the professional support provided by their sales and technical staff, said Darwish.

Seventh Spectrum is a one stop shop advertising and digital printing solution provider for both indoor and outdoor applications. Last year, it also set up a new packaging and cardboard manufacturing facility.
