Fujifilm has launched the latest addition to its Acuity flatbed range, the entry-level Acuity 15. The latest addition to the series, which was first introduced in 2007, was officially launched last week. Bobst introduces digital print subsidiary, unveils machines

Bobst has launched a new subsidiary dedicated purely to digital printing, and signalled its first move into the textile and label printing space.

Zebra launches large-format DTC machine

US manufacturer Zebra Technologies has launched what it is calling its first ‘large-format’ direct-to-card (DTC) machine.
The ZC10L, which was previewed at Trustech, Cannes, late last year, became commercially available in April  and has already been used by Fox Broadcasting at a Super Bowl VIP event.
It is being badged as Zebra’s first machine that can carry out printing on edge-to-edge cards without the need for preprinting and prints on cards more than double the size of other DTC machines

Inca enters B1 inkjet market with new sheetfed inkjet printer

A new B1-format sheetfed inkjet printer from Inca Digital was previewed at the Fespa show in Hamburg.  The as-yet-unnamed device will be sold by both Inca and its partner Fujifilm.
The printer runs at up to 200sph and Inca said the initial target was short-run markets including point-of-purchase and commercial printing. It is based on the same platform as Inca’s existing Onset X and SpyderX wide-format devices.

Ricoh announced the launch of two new industrial inkjet printheads: the  MH5421F and the  MH5421MF. Ricoh will start taking orders for both of these printheads from June 2017.
The Ricoh MH5421MF and MH5421F printheads were designed for both low viscosity (6 mPas) and medium viscosity fluids (11 mPas) respectively.

Flint raises ink prices due to raw material

Flint Group has announced price increases of between 4% and 7% for all its packaging, narrow web and sheetfed inks and varnishes.  The company blamed the price rises on a “prolonged period of significant raw material cost inflation, force majeure announcements and changes in the supply outlook for raw materials for printing inks and varnishes”.
