Ittihad Paper Mill (IPM) participated for the first time in the Paperworld Middle East event. IPM is the first printing and writing paper production facility in the GCC. IPM is focused on catering to the growing regional demand for paper products that is currently reliant on imports, while also serving the international markets. IPM is located on a 230,000 square meter plot in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD) and is the largest producer of printing & writing paper in the MENA region covering around 10% of the market.
Speaking about the event, Abdullah Al Khateeb, managing director of IPM, said, “As an exhibitor we are participating for the first time in the event. I am happy with the event, which is a good sign for us. We have invested in a new machine and if the things go well as per our schedule then we are expecting to start the production from end of June. We are planning to go global through our venture. We will be producing uncoated wood free cut size sheets and reels. We are already doing tissue business through our mill. We meet clients through the exhibitions like Paperworld, which gives us a lot of opportunity and makes our life easier to meet everyone. The event allowed us to do a good social networking. Products produced by the IPM are strictly in compliance with global environmental standards and sources pulp only from certified sustainable forests.”
