New dryer reduces carbon footprint

The environmentally-friendly Goss Ecobox thermal energy recovery system enhancement has become available around the world.

Water circulating though the system is heated by exhaust air from the dryer, with the heated water being available directly or converted to replace the energy required for air conditioning or other systems.

The default temperature of the heated water exiting the system is 203 degrees Fahrenheit but can be adjusted.

Océ has reported a 60% boost in demand for its renovated machines during last year with the Dutch manufacturer selling 5,000 such printers during the 12-month period.

Heidelberg has handed out the first of its new Eco Printing prizes at the debut international environmental printing award for the sheetfed offset sector.

A new eco-simulator has been developed to help businesses better understand the environmental impact of their printing habits.
The eco-simulator automatically calculates the impact of a user on the environment and translates that information into global warming potential and non-reneweable resources depletion.
