AST Digital Press based in UAE has made an investment of  USD 1 million to purchase 2 units of Kodak’s NeXpress Gold.
Talking to  PrintWeek MEA, M.G. Ittan, director of AST said, “Kodak is a reliable brand. The prime reason behind the investment is that some of our jobs are being outsourced. I want everything done in-house and also to increase my company’s inventory and capacity as the clients demands are on a hike. So, this high quality digital printer with a speed of 110 A4 pages per minute, which is commonly known as the Digital Gold solution in market pushed me for the buy.”
Komal Sharma, MD, Kodak Middle East commented, “We are excited by the response our new products has received at Gulf Print.” Naser Darwazeh, general manager of Gulf Commercial Group who are representing Kodak in UAE said, “ We brought the gold printing, with our 5 colour ‘Dimensional Printing, feature (DMCC) in NexPress which prints 400 microns & has been undoubtedly popular & successful.”
Ittan adds, “Gulf Print and Pack was 80 percent digital and 20 percent offset show this year, and definitely it is one of the show to look forward to in this region.” AST Press has  also bought two units of Canon ImagePRESS on day 1 at the Gulf show, which makes them the only press in the whole Middle East to have 6 imagePRESS machines.
