Xeikon launches super black toner

Xeikon's latest development in toner technology is called the SuperBlack toner. Normal black toner produces a density of 1.8, while the new SuperBlack provides a density  of 2.2-2.4. SuperBlack is a spot colour that can be applied using the fifth colour station of a Xeikon digital press.

Flint launches EkoCure flexo adhesive range

Flint Group Narrow Web has launched a range of UV LED-curable adhesives under its EkoCure brand.

The EkoCure UV range includes pressure-sensitive adhesive, lamination adhesive and cold foil adhesive and complements Flint Group's existing EkoCure UV flexo and screen inks.

According to Flint, the new flexo adhesives are the first commercially available adhesive products to have been specifically designed for UV LED curing.

FFEI adds new features to its Graphium press

FFEI has unveiled a number of enhancements to its Graphium hybrid digital UV narrow-web label press, including a sixth inkjet channel to enable a digital over-white in addition to the existing digital under-white.

The sixth channel, which was always on the product roadmap, will give a configuration of white plus CMYK plus white, enabling converters to print both under-white and over-white.

This gives a variety of benefits, including boosting the opacity from 65% to 85% in pure white areas

Flint launches new plate for nyloflex NExT exposure technology

Gallus is now a wholly owned company

Heidelberg is taking 100% ownership of Gallus in a deal that will see Gallus owner Ferdinand Rüesch become Heidelberg’s largest single shareholder.
Heidelberg acquired a 30% stake in family-owned Gallus in 1999, and part of the deal included the option to eventually buy the rest of the label and packaging press specialist.

Agfa Graphics exhibited the mid- to high-end wide-format Anapurna M3200i RTR - Agfa Graphics’ enhanced Anapurna i-series at Fespa Digital in Munich.

Durst adds metallic effects to label press

Durst has added metallic effects to its Tau 330 label press and is in the process of doing the same for its Omega II wide-format printer, thanks to a partnership with Color-Logic.

EFI announces Rhapso acquisition, results

EFI has announced the acquisition of print and packaging software developer Group Rhapso, as it posted double-digit jumps in sales and profitability in its first quarter results.

The US-based firm announced that it had acquired French software developer Group Rhapso, whose two main products are the Graphisoft MIS and the PC-Topp scheduling and production control system for the corrugated industry.

Graphisoft is primarily marketed in French-speaking countries, while PC-Topp is sold worldwide

Heidelberg has announced that it will start offering the new Speedmaster CD 102 from April this year. Equipped with the Preset Plus Delivery and a comprehensive package of automation components, it boosts productivity by around ten percent on the previous series, says Heidelberg.

    The first ever 3D printing conference cum exhibition ‘3D Print UAE’ took place on 17th and 18th August 2015 at Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE which attracted a number of like-minded 3D Printing professionals from over 40 nations.

    3D Print UAE exhibition cum conference is a concept aimed at providing a broad scale platform for the manufacturing sector and consumer world across the ME region. 

    3D Print UAE gave an opportunity for the additive manufacturing experts from across the globe to converge on this regional platform to showcase their solutions, analyze the benefits and discuss the opportunities in the Middle East. It also provided the opportunity for a listen- in to first-hand experience from industry leaders, connect solutions for overcoming challenges in the field, and enhance the brand and  business portfolio.
