Comes January and regional printers look forward to participating in or visiting the most anticipated show of the year - The  Sign and Graphics Imaging (SGI) show.
According to the organisers, there has been a 20% increase in exhibiting space over 2012.  At the time of going to press, SGI already has 400 confirmed participants from 30 nations.  While there are heightened expectations from the regional show and the wide format signage industry; a global event recently received another setback.
Xerox, the third largest exhibitor in terms of floorspace, has announced its decision of withdrawing from Ipex 2014, dealing the international event another body blow.  The exhibition has already been racked with high profile withdrawals, first by Heidelberg and HP, followed by Agfa and Komori; and now comes the latest shocker from Xerox, giving the organisers a significant cause for concern. However, as they say, the show must go on.
The articles and features to watch out for in this issue are - our Better Business feature on decorative finishes; the Product of the Month article focusing on 4-colour wide format flat bed from Mimaki - the JFX500-2131 with its  LED UV-curing technology and the roll-fed CS9300 from the stable of Océ.
The January issue of PrintWeek MEA also has a special SGI supplement carrying exclusive interviews and information on new technological developments in the outdoor and signage industries.
