1) What does the machine do

The Xerox 700 prints at 2400 x 2400 dpi with a maximum page size of 33x48 and it can handle coated and uncoated media up to 300 gsm. The machine prints at 70 pages per minute and can auto duplex coated and uncoated media up to 220 gsm. New toner composition means that no fuser oil is required. This produces a matte; flat finish that resembles the look and feel of conventional 4 colour offset print. The Xerox 700 has demonstrated remarkable colour consistency over long runs.

2) Why did you choose this particular machine

We chose the Xerox 700 we wanted to be able to take advantage of a new market opportunity that we saw developing for short run, high quality full colour print.

3) Which features do you particularly like

The Xerox 700 offered reliability, productivity and colour consistency all of which are key to the value we are able to offer our customers.

4) Is there anything you dislike or wish it had

While it runs a range of media I would like to see this range expanded. Additionally, I would like to see further improvements to shadow detail.

5) How fast is it

At 70 pages per minute is keeps up with the demands of our customers.

6) How reliable is it

The Xerox 700 has proven extremely reliable for colour proofing as well as short run high quality jobs.

7) What is the quality like and what kind of response have you had from your clients

Initially, the response to the quality was mixed as my customers got used to different look of digital print. However, once they got to understand the technology better and how effective a tool it could be for them their response has been very they start positive.

8) How easy is it to use

It is extremely easy to produce top quality colour output.

9) How much time or money has it saved

I don't have completely accurate numbers at the moment, but I can say with certainty that the 700 is helping to reduce my labor cost & the waste associated with production.

10) Were there any difficulties experienced during the installation or after

Yes, there were some difficulties during the installation, but these are to be expected when you are working with technology. The knowledge and professionalism of the Xerox staff in Kuwait was key to overcoming these issues and now everything is working well.

11) Has it won you any new work

Yes, it has won us new applications such as photos book & personalised newspapers and I am sure there are more on the way.

12) Who do you think it is suitable for

The Xerox 700 is suitable for any commercial printing press whether big or small.

13) What about the pre- and after-sale service

Both the pre and post sale service has been very good. I rely on the team at Xerox.

14) Under what circumstances would you buy another

When our current 700 is not capable of keeping up with our growing work load, we will buy another one.

The Xerox 700 is ideal for printers who wants to enter production printng market. It has flexibility to produce a wide variety of applications, on both coated and uncoated paper. It has low melt Emulsion Aggregation (EA) toner with which printers can create high value documents with a smooth, offset-like matte finish and superior halftones.
