HP's collaboration with government and law-enforcement officials recently led to new major blows to counterfeiting of printing supplies for HP printers in this region. In total, local authorities seized more than one million pieces of counterfeit printing supplies and components.
"HP provides customers with a comprehensive print experience, ensuring they have the maximum opportunity to enjoy true interactive digital features with high quality, recyclable Original HP supplies," said Mr. Amin Mortazavi, general manager, Imaging and Printing Group, HP Middle East. In the region covering Europe, the Middle East, the Mediterranean and Africa, from the end of 2008 through September 2010, HP has helped authorities seize around 5.1 million finished counterfeits and components.
HP showcased in Gitex their collaborative print solutions with Web-ready large-format printer and ePrint service. Also on showcase were first HP LaserJet that prints from the web and mobile devices, and full line of ePrint-enabled LaserJet printers.
Apple also has announced that it is releasing a beta version of its AirPrint wireless printing which automatically finds printers on local networks and can print text, photos and graphics. HP's existing and upcoming ePrint enabled printers will be able to support printing direct from iOS devices.
